The Strangest Secret: A Synopsis
My Worthy Ideals:
Conquering my mind (acute / short term), designing a positive and productive mindspace (long term).
Helping other people do the same to develop mental and physical and discipline.
Living and leading with love.
Cultivating the ability to say no to myself and others.
Being in control of my desire.
Becoming an incredible persuader. Understanding people’s deepest emotional need and providing that.
Defining Success:
“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. If a man is working toward a predetermined goal and knows where he’s going: that man is a success. If he’s not doing that: he’s a failure”. Success is:
Knowing where you are.
Knowing where you want to go.
Moving towards your goal with faith.
In other words: to be a success is to live life in pursuit of the things that you choose. Success is living with intentionality; living deliberately. Success is saying “I’m going to become this” and then getting to work on becoming that thing.
Don’t worry about the how, just focus on where you are going and work with an almost blind persistence. This is what it means to have faith.
The Immutable Law:
We become what we think about: this is a law of nature. If you jump out of a window, you will always go down and never up. So too is true that we become what is in our mind.
Be careful of who & what you allow into your mind: the mind does not care what you plant in it. It will simply return what you sow. What you sow, is what you will reap. Whether nightshade or corn: as ye sow, so shall ye reap.
If you think in negative terms, you will get negative results. Fear is the mind killer.
If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results. Believe and succeed.
A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.
A man is what he thinks about all day long.
A human being with a settled purpose must accomplish it.
Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.
Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.
Money & Service:
Money is not made. It is earned through service. You are not successful after you make money. You can only earn money after you are successful. Be of service.
Your returns in life must be in direct proportion to what you give. We’ve got to put the fuel in before we get the heat. No man can get rich himself unless he enriches others.
Money is a yardstick for measuring service. If you want more, you must be of more service. This is the price you must pay for what you want.
