Breaking The Last Chain: Making $5,000 USD Per Month Passively

The idea of passive income has been a big part of my life for a long time. Ever since I was 16 years old I dreamed of living a life with freedom of time, money, location and mind (as described in The Almanac of Naval Ravikant). Much of my adult life has been spent trying and mostly failing to create venture after venture to make passive income.

I have learned a lot on my journey. Mostly lessons about myself and how I operate. I will try to be as trasnparent as possible below:

  • I don’t like employing people. I love working with people on a contract basis but something about the thought of hiring someone for the long term doesn’t sit right with me. I always feel like they could be using their time better, that they could be, and deserve to be building their dream instead of mine.

  • I like working alone on things. I like having full control over my projects.

  • I change my mind about things too often: I have had the feeling many times before where all I needed to do in order to succeed was stay the course. I will not fail myself again.

  • I need to be in business for myself: I always end up quitting or getting fired from positions where I am managed.

A rebuttal to each of the above points:

  • People don’t have to work for me. If a person has chosen to work for me it is because my offer was the option in front of them. If one of my team members find something better to do: they will let me know, and then they will leave. Although I would like to: I don’t have to maximize their life. I’m probably not in a position to do that anyways. I’m their boss, not their life coach.

  • I don’t have enough time / energy to micromanage everything about my business. I have to let go, and trust the people that I hire to do their best for the ventures I create.

So how am I going to get to 5k a month?

There are a lot of ways to make money these days, especially with the advent of online commerce. The four main ways to make money are to offer a:

  • Physical service

  • Digital service

  • Physical product

  • Digital product

I am thinking about selling a digital product for $19.99 USD. which would mean that I would have to sell 250 copies of it per month. Let’s imagine that 1 in every 10,000 people who views my content is interested in making a purchase: this would mean that I would need 250,000 views per month to make $5,000 per month. That’s 8,333 views per day and I think this is completely manageable.

What will people get in exchange for their money?

  • A detailed outline of exactly how I stay in shape (mindset, sleep, diet, exercise)

  • This resource will be improved and updated over time

  • Access to a members only discord channel where we: share wins and hold each other accountable

  • 1st 100 buyers get a 30 minute consultation call with me

The Strategy:

  • Write E-Book for $19.99 (Card or Squarespace): E-Book will discuss how I stay in shape AND new versions will be updated as they become available.

  • Make long form content

  • Make Short form content from long form content and post it every day

Prerequisites:

  • Learning more. Knowing more = having more to talk about x being able to help more people

  • Opening a gym
